A frozen BALLERINA...

Winter is quite not the best season for flea markets...

and you will understand why after these following pictures!

That was on the morning of the first local flea market of the year...

and it was FREEZING!!!!

Not easy to find motivation to go out with such a weather!

A must to keep hand warm, a vintage MUFF of course!

I bought this white New Look vintage coat in Brussels a few month ago.

It was handmade but I must tell you that some details make me think that it's not an original from the 50's.

However a princess style 50's coat in a larger size and moreover in white color is almost impossible to find, mainly for 30 euros!

My husband also wore a cream coat.

One of the more stylish he has ever found!

But what to wear under a coat to fight this cold weather???

Wool of course!

Wool stocking, felt wool boots...

Wool 50's sweater, wool vintage circle skirt...

I felt like a vintage ballerina!

I love this scarf, found for a few bucks in a vintage shop in Hollywood.

Another detail, a 40's ballerina brooch!

You cannot see my blouse but it was also with ballerinas pattern!

But I must tell you that despite all this wool, I felt so COOOOOLLLLDDD!

Sylvain was just frozen...

We didn't find much at that flea market...

except a few nice 45 RPM.

We are really missing our summer flea markets under the sun!

What do you wear for these kind of freezing days?
Have you still flea markets in winter where you live?

PANTS for GIRLS???

There are some days when you are not in the mood for dressing up...

You just want to be comfy,

for going to grocery store for example.

I think it's always easier for guy to dress up...

for a man, pants are pants!

Sylvain don't have to choose between different style of skirts or dresses :-)

But he hardly leaves his ties, even for a casual outfit!

It's not the same for me...

I often think that I'm taking too much time to prepare an outfit...

I have quite a special husband because sometimes,
he takes more time than I to choose an outfit!!!

I have a lot of lovely fancy dresses
but sometimes don't feel like wearing them...

So I'm trying lately to buy some vintage basics (pants, skirts, sweaters) that I can wear with different accessories.

I bought these pants in Mamie Blue in Paris.

They are made with vintage fabric from a '47 pattern.

I always have problems to find pants that fit my curves, waist are always too big for my hips size...

These ones were custom sized for me and fit for once perfectly!

But a casual look with basics must not mean to have a sad outfit...

Choose bright accessories like this pink/purple vintage umbrella!

A cute ERSTWILDER poodle brooch that I really love!!!!

And a new vintage beaded purse that can cheer up any outfit.

Can you imagine how I feel when I find this pink flecked 50's jacket for just $30???

My silk turban scarf is a souvenir from our Venitian trip!

Our shooting begun under the rain...

and finished under the sun!

Winter is really strange this year here.

How long do you need to be ready for going outside?
(For me between 45 min up to 2 hours...)
What are your favorite basics in your wardrobe?

PARIS + Vintage = St OUEN flea market !!!

Here are a few pictures of our parisian trip....

Unfortunatly, we didn't made a lot,

because all our trip in Paris are always really busy!

Familly, friends, visits and shopping...

About all these pictures were taken on the same day...

At St Ouen flea market...

the oldest flea market in the world!

Do you know that the word "flea market" comes from there? Because in the XIXth century, people started selling second hand clothes there and most of items were quite dirty, people don't wash them often, so there were a lot of fleas! That's why people started to call this place "flea market"... "marché aux puces" in french!

My personal Santa Claus found my Xmas present in this incredible shop! I have had since 40's hat for more than 10 years but never wear it... but I customized it with vintage velvet flowers to fit my outfit colors!

We haven't been to St Ouen for about 4 years and it changed a lot.

It's much more clean  than in the past (no flea anymore...)and 50's stuffs are eveywhere, you can see it's a fashionnable era nowadays... it used to be ART DECO last time we went there but now modernism is a must have!

There are so many nice small restaurants, so frenchy will say our american friends!

We spent all the day there but we didn't have time to see all what we wanted, it's so big!

It was a cold windy day but we had so much fun!

We were there with some really good friends of us,
 so it was even better!

That's not a cheap place but you can find almost everything that a vintage lover can dream about.

I really love the outfit that I was wearing on that day... a lovely 40's coat but not only...

Unfortunatly night was there really fast...

but it didn't stop us to shop vintage!

We went to a shop called "CASABLANCA" which is selling clothes before the 60's.

I found there an amazing atomic NOS early 50's bikini... I have never dared to wear a bikini... perhaps at the next Viva Las Vegas pool party?

Here is why that outfit is so special to me... matching 40's coat and skirt!!!

Even if our stay was short (4 days) it's always such a pleasure to come back to Paris really one of the most beautiful city in the world!

Have you ever been in Paris?
Did you visit St Ouen flea market?
