Vintage FISHES necklace...

I told you in a previous post that we visited some flea markets in Paris...

I found there a vintage jewelery set that inspired me this outfit!

We had a real heat waves in France a few weeks ago, more than 35°C (100°F)...

Really perfect to go out in hawaiian shirt...

I love my husband in yellow...

Hawaiian shirts have always great designs...

I'm thinking about buying some for me... just because I like the fabrics!

We took all these pictures after 8:00PM, 

but it was still more than 30°C!

So I built a comfy outfit for hot weather...

 around that CRAZY necklace!!!

It was not a cheap find...

I fell in love at the first sight but I hesitated to buy it because I could not think about outfits that would fit it...

But it was so kitch and colorful, I could not miss it!!!

Can you believe that the matching vintage earrings where still available?

I don't know the exact era of that amazing set...

Probably between 50's to 80's.

I had to find the perfect accessories to match this fishy set.

Shells lucite 50's bracelet...

50's cord basket with shells!

Starfishes in the hair...

Vintage striped 50's top...

with matching flat espadrilles!

and to finish a 50's hawaiian blue skirt!!!

My "under the sea" mermaid look...

for an evening stroll near water,

and a cool drive after the sunset...

but not that close to water!!!

I really don't like this kind of crazy hot weather...

I'm definitively a north side gal!

Dur de trouver une tenue vintage pour combattre les grosses chaleurs que nous avons eu il y a quelques semaines!!! J'ai été inspirée par une de mes nouvelles trouvailles aux puces de St Ouen... cette parure poissons très kitch. J'ai joué le total look sous la mer et une petite chemise vintage hawaïenne pour Sylvain. Dur, dur à suporter cette fournaise, je suis décidément bien une fille du Nord! Et vous?

Meeting The PUPPINI SISTERS...

So here is why we spent a week-end in Paris for the D-Day Anniversary...

We were invited to the Balajo to meet the famous english group The Puppini Sisters!

That was a really private meeting with only a few bloggers and the press.

I meet for example Lorna.

That was the 10th Anniversary of the group.

We shared tea, biscuits and Champagne and have time to chat a bit.

These 3 ladies were really kind!

We were lucky enought to enjoy the Balajo quite empty...

The Balajo is one of the more authentic night club in Paris, openned in 1936, it still has his kitchy original decors... many famous people went there: Edith Piaf, Django Reinhardt, Rita Hayworth....

After this tea afternoon, we could enjoy the day after her concert like VIP in a crowdy room!

That was the first time that we heard these modern Andrews Sisters live, great show and great voices!!!

Et voilà pourquoi nous avons passé quelques jours à Paris début juin.... Nous avons été invités à rencontrer le groupe anglais, les Puppini Sisters pour leur 10ème anniversaire! Connues comme les nouvelles Andrews Sisters, nous avons eu la chance de partager un après-midi très privé avec elles et quelques autres blogueurs. Le mythique night club le Balajo a servi de décor à un formidable concert! Merci à Bree de VINTAGERS pour cette invitation, n'oubliez pas de visiter ce site, un must pour tous les accros du vintage!!!

D-Day Anniversary in PARIS...

The 6th of June was the D-Day Anniversary in France...

we were in Paris for that special day.

The weather was just so perfect.

I had to wear a 40's outfit on that day!

Blue, white, red ... patriotic colors just hiden with a bit of yellow...

CLEVER when you know that french ladies could not wear openly these 3 colors together!

I also wore my 40's Lorraine Cross necklace.

A real symbol of french resistance... probably someone wore it hidden like me during the WWII...

What a pleasure to go back to Paris.

Probably the most beautiful city in the World!!!

Enjoying french croissants in the streets...

All details are so interesting in Paris...

you have to look anywhere from top to bottom to not miss anything!

But even if we go regulary to this beautiful city,

we really enjoy every stroll there,

architecture is amazing but also gardens!

Some details of Sylvain's outfit...

We had so much compliments on that day,

everybody thinking that we were dressed like that just for the D-Day.

There were no special event in Paris for this 70th Anniversary,

most of commemorations were in Normandy.

There will be many in Paris for the 25th of August,

when allies release the french capital!

A small visit to the Louvre museum...

We visited also some vintage shoppes...

but we were in Paris for another reason that I will share in my next post!

Encore en retard pour ce post sur l'anniversaire du débarquement en Normandie... nous étions à Paris pour ce jour spécial.

Tenue 40's oblige, beaucoup de gens nous ont complimenté pensant que nous nous étions déguisés pour l'occasion!

Paris probablement la plus belle ville du monde (et oui, faut bien être un peu chauvins, non?), toujours un plaisir d'arpenter ses rues, boutiques et marchés aux puces...

On reviendra bientôt (très bientôt...), c'est sûr!
