GREEN 40's WINTER coat

And winter is here again....

We had first snow this week!

Even if it's already melted, it's now quite cold....

and you cannot go out without a warm coat!

Matching B&W shoes for husband and wife!!!

Remix shoes for Sylvain...

These shoes are really comfy but if you want to use them outside, you will have to change their soles.

So let speak about vintage winter coats.

As a lot of vintage lovers, my favorite ones are princess coats.
I usually prefer 40's coats instead of 50's coats because a lot of 50's ones have 3/4 sleeves.

But they are so hard to find at affordable prices and in a larger size!

I often look at vintage coats on Etsy or Ebay, but it's rare that I find one that fit my style, my size and my budget....

But when I saw the details of this coat on Ebay, I fell in love!

Not a princess style, but look at this back!!!

Gorgeous rare forest green color...

and I won it for only $60!!!

I try to buy at least one coat every year...

because with our cold winter time, almost nobody will see what you wear under!

Late 40's black jacket and black, white and green gabardine dress, just for you!

Another cute ERSTWILDER brooch.

Those pictures were taken in the old city of METZ.

Sylvain also chose a warm jacket.

Look at the back pleats of this vintage treasure!

As I mention every year, winter is not an easy season for vintage lovers!

Winter vintage clothes are much more harder to find.

Wool items are often so damaged by mothes that you cannot wear them anymore.

I love tie that Sylvain was wearing, seem like  several "L"... like my name!!!

That was also a flea market day, so here is what I bought:
a cute 50's basket and some 40's-50's costume jewels!!!

Do you think that it's difficult to wear vintage in winter ?
What kind of vintage coats do you like the most ?

Professional SHOOTING!!!!

Almost all pictures that you can see on this blog are made by us...

I regulary receive messages from readers that write me they like our blog because of the quality of our pictures!

I'm always surprised because we really don't have a professional camera...

Most of the time, we are taking pictures outside because inside ones are nasty with our small compact camera.

So when our friend Didier Vanspranghe asked us if we would be interested if he could make a shooting with us, we were really motivated!

Didier is not a professional photographer but he always bring always his camera every where he goes...

and he has the same stuff than a professional: huge camera, lighting umbrellas, flashes....

There is a big difference between his pictures and ours, isn't it?

We are not used to be pictured by other people...

so it's not easy to be natural.

I wore an early 50's outfit for that special day.

Between 2 rain showers, we were also able to do some pictures outside!

This picture with Sylvain seems almost unreal...

We spent about a full day to make those pictures...

but it was quite fun to play starlets!

It was like playing a role...

the car is out of order...

and it's war between husband and wife....

so FUN!!!

We really love how those pictures turned.

Really makes me want another more powerfull camera!

If you enjoyed those pictures, please visit and like Didier's Facebook page,

you will see his amazing work!

Did you like all these pictures?
Which one is your favorite?

40's floral HOUSE DRESS

Here is an outfit that I planned to wear during our venitian trip....

unfortunatly it stayed in my suitcase due to bad weather.

So I could not wait to wear it when I came back home.

But I must tell you that I was finally pleased not to have been able to wear it before...

You will ask me "Why?"

Because I was able to choose the best accessories to match it, that would not be possible while travelling!

First, I was pleased to wear for the first time this amazing 40's hat.

It's in mint condition, love it so much!!!

This straw purse match the colors of the outfit perfectly!

I choose these black and white Remix wedges to match my jacket.

That 40's NEW LOOK jacket was save by my husband, found in an old barn that was demolished.

It was in really poor condition...

but with such nice details, I took time to restore it!

Do you remember? This dress was purchased during our last shopping trip to Bruxelles.

Just a simple 40's house dress, cheap one but with a few well chosen accessories it's even over dressed nowadays!

Did you notice my new ERSTWILDER brooch?

Some readers asked me where to find those cute brooches, just on Ebay because this nice brand have no stockist in Europe or in North America, only in Australia.

But where is Sylvain????

Just under the hood!!!

Having 4 vintage cars also means a lot of repairs to do...

But Sylvain takes it with a smile!

He loves them so much and speak all the time about vintage american cars!!!

I must tell you that I prefer to drive than to repair...

Perhaps the last ride of the year...
winter and salt on the road will soon be here.

What are your man hobbies ? Linked to vintage ?
Have you ever drived a vintage car ?
