A new hair style

I really hate going to hairdresser. I have never find one who can understand really what I want. I think most of them only do what they want without listenning to their customers. After coming back from a hairdresser appointment I usually go straigh to the bathroom to wash my hair and finally do the hair style I want... Why are all hairdressers so expensive to give such poor services???
It's perhaps easy to find a retro style salon in a big city but where I live I have already tested about 10 of them... and always come back with some kind of 70's look... something like the blonde singer from the sweedish group ABBA!!! Totally hate that!!!!

So here is my new hair style after my personnal touch... (definitively not the best pictures ever!!!)

It's one of the shorter hairstyle I ever wore... But I think it's pretty cool to have shorter hairs. But I usually don't let my hair straight, so I used sponge rolls to make the following style.

A cold sunday morning at flea market...

But it was not an usual flea market!
For on time we were sellers and not buyers...

What do you think about my new hairstyle?
Did you manage to find a perfect hairdresser?

Horse racing at ASCOT...

The weather is becomming colder and colder here in the North East of France... So what to do when you don't want to spend evening outside?

Why not playing a board game with husband?

So here is the game we discovered tonight...

This a a vintage board game from the 50's. We bought it several years ago in a flea market but never played with it because the instructions seemed to be so complicated! It's rare to find a game like this complete and in this pristine condition.

This game is something like Monopoly but on a horses racetrack.
A special bookmaker was there....

I wore this cute tiny 40's hat for this ASCOT horses race of course, the place where you must wear one of your funniest hat!!!!

Look at those cute horses pawns!!!

The microphone was just for the fun...

Finally it was quite easy to learn how to play with this game and we spent a nice cosy evening at home!!!

Do you like playing board games?
What are your activities during these cold evenings?

Week-end activities...

I was quite busy these previous days, busy at home, busy at work... so I didn't find any time to share my last week-end activities with you dear readers!
So on Saturday we were invited by the mayor of our village to an inauguration...

I went out with my vintage Chevy. I don't know why but my camera gave me these strange, quite 50's, colors on this picture.... Perhaps the beginning of its end!
It's perhaps its last outing for these year because cold weather is already here... perhaps soon snow!

On the sunday I went to a local flea market, it takes place every 2 weeks. It's the only outside one which lasts all winter.
Here is me early in the morning with some of my finds.

We often go really early to flea markets... Early birds catch the best bargains!!! But it was so cold, it was time for me to wear for the first time my new vintage 40's boots and some wool pantyhose.

I found these interesting 50's handkerchief...

and these beautiful scarf !!!

I couldn't resist to these nearly mint and complete 50's porcelain dishes service. 6 differents light colors with gold trim, LOVELY!!!

I also bought some 45 RPM, one of them was Twilight Time from The Platters.

Nothing on the A side except one of my favorite song but a surprise on the B side...
(will be easier to understand for my french readers, sorry)

A little more explanations... That was a record given to all new owners of the 50's french car Dyna Panhard and the record explains how to use your new Dyna!!!

Here is a DYNA...
It was a typical week-end for me with a vintage car cruise and flea markets... I also spend some time ironing, cleaning and watching TV and internet in pajamas.. I don't thing you will be interested to see pictures of that....

What are your favorite week-end activities?

My Christmas WISHING list..

Dear Santa Claus....

I hope you will be generous for me this year, I was a good girl last months so let me tell you what I would like for Christmas to lay under my tree...

I would be happy to discover some vintage or repro 40's shoes, I need navy ones.

I also need one or two vanity mirrors for my '54 Bel Air...

I will not be against to find a nice vintage hat under the tree...

I really want to learn how to sew, I own several vintage machines but they don't work correctly, so I would be happy to have a new one.
Why not a vintage purse... a lucite one... I know they are expensive but I will treasure it for many years!

For my blog readers pleasure, I would like a new digital camera in order to make more amazing pictures!!!

Like every women, I'm hoping for jewelery... not expensive ones... vintage costume jewelery will be perfect for me.

I would be pleased to receive a plane ticket to go to Viva Las Vegas next year.

My dear Santa Claus, I know that you will not be able to bring me all that I want... I'm quite a greedy girl! Just two or three of the below listed things will be just perfect for me!!!

See you in about 6 weeks...

Cheers,

Laurence

Last flea markets....

It's time now for the last flea markets of the year... Fortunatly the weather was with us the last week-ends were quite sunny and let us enjoy the Autumn!

What I enjoy the most in the last markets of the years is that all sellers make all Xmas ornements come out!!! I would like to share with you some beautiful ones.

My favorite ones were those 50's little characters...

Those birds were so elegants...

I loved these colorful collection...

Nice for the eyes but quite non-affordable, more than 10 euros for 1 ornement !!! That's why I don't own a lot of vintage ones, they are highly collectable :  often expensive and really fragile.

I was nice so see this beautiful stall: vintage truck with vintage pedal cars...

"Boule d'or" was a famous cigarettes trade mark in the late 40's and I really love its ads.

Once again a lot of nice vintage magazines and patterns !!!

Some 50's tapestries...

Some comics from the 30's...

I didn't buy a lot on this flea market. A lot of nice things but quite expensive perhaps because of Christmas which will be here very soon!!! I bought for myself a 50's brooch, a 40's green bakelite necklace and a small 50's white leather purse.

The weather was so nice that we decided to eat out and cruise in our '59 Buick.

But we had to make an emergency stop... a lonely 50's chair was waited for us on the sidewalk !!! Some people trashes can be others' treasures....

Those US vintage cars are huge but it was quite hard to squeeze this chair in !!!

Do you own some vintage Christmas ornements ?
Have you ever save some objects abandoned on the sidewalk ?
