with temperatures between -10°C and -2°C (-14°F and -28°F)!
Brrrrrrr!!!!!
But in only one night all the snow melted!
However, it's still winter...
A lot of new comers in vintage world ask us:
"But what do you wear in winter???"
It's true that more summer clothes have survived...
and a lot of repro brands only propose coton dresses or openned shoes.
Yes, you can have a RETRO style without being cold!!!
First look for a nice vintage coat,
A pair of warm gloves (those are new from Ebay),
Vintage scarves are easy to find!
Wool pantyhose will be your best friends!!!
And a nice pair of boots will keep your feet warm!
I like to wear bright colors in winter, as weather is often sad.
My ladybugs brooch and earrings inspired me for this outfit.
Earrings are vintage bakelite,
my brooch is from the french designer Léa Stein.
I'm quite obsessed with her work!
Another secret for a warm winter outfit is...
WOOL!!!
Wool 50's skirt...
Wool vintage sweater!
This sweater sweedish inspired
was a present for my hubby's birthday...
another Tintin's outfit for him!
A lot of people think about the famous reporter when they see knickers...
he paired them with this gorgeous jacket!
The details are so great on it.
He managed to mix western wear
with a northern inspiration!
Sylvain likes to be different...
that's why he almost never wears jeans...
Fun experience...
This sweater is from JANTZEN...
this firm produced their first knitting in the 10's!
When swimsuits were made of wool!
In the 50's, their range went from beach to ski wear.
Try to always find a piece fun too wear in winter...
otherwise the winter blues will catch you!
What prevents you from the winter blues?
What fun accessories do you use during cold days?
- Bon dimanche! -
You can't beat a good bit of wool! There's nothing like proper animal fibre - wool, cashmere, alpaca - for keeping warm in winter. You both look wonderfully cosy.
ReplyDeleteMagnifique ton manteau, tu peux profiter des températures froides sans trop de difficultés. Très jolies tenues pour vous deux. Ça te va bien les cheveux lâchés.
ReplyDeleteGreat winter outfits! I especially love your coat :)

I am loving the poodle & ladybugs combination! The Tintin ensemble is fabulous too!
ReplyDeleteI used to have quite the 50's wardrobe in my native San Francisco, a bit of Anita Ekberg in La Dolce Vita, Kim Novak in Vertigo, & perhaps a dash of Jayne Mansfield just for naughtiness.
Now I'm a 1950's Hollywood starlet gone Bollywood.....

Sylvain is a very stylish and sexy Tintin! I love black and red, such an unsual combination and very lovely. :) The snow has just melted in Denmark too. Have a nice day, you two. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your Miss L Fire Whistler boots. I have these too! Very stylish!
ReplyDeleteOoohh, that really is nippy for sure! I've felt those sorts of temps (and colder still) before and it's not something one soon forgets. It's awesome that you guys were able to get out and do a shoot in the midst of such bone chilling weather. I always find we shot less in the winter, if only because it simply isn't safe for our photographic equipment to get snowed on.
ReplyDeleteBoth of your outfits are so fun! Your poodle purse is beyond cute! Ooohh, and I just have to mention that you're wearing the very same colours (sometimes with grey added into the mix) that I lovingly call my unofficial winter uniform (black, red and white). Something about that pairing just calls to me winter after snowy winter.
Have a fantastic last week of January!
♥ Jessica
Where did you find this adorabel poodle purse? It's from a special designer, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThe coat and skirt are spectecular winter pieces. Wow!
I own just two true 50s winter skirts and I wore them almost every day during the icy days - which I normally don't do. Underneath: ugly modern Ski underwear!
You looks fantastic in red!
ReplyDeletelove it!
Jojo
