The best time of the years to enjoy a ride in our vintage cars...
Sylvain tried hard to convince me to drive with him in his Lincoln...
I think I have already mentionned how I dislike convertibles....
too hot, too windy...
Probably the most glamorous cars but not really practical....
We was driving to a vintage carshow in country side...
We got lost and found an amazing place!
That's an american military cemetery.
That was such a peacefull place!
Everything in pristine condition with gorgeous gardens.
That's a WWI memorial.
It reminds me when we visited Washington DC some years ago.
There are a lot of this kind of military cemeteries where we live.
That's always really impressive to see so many white crosses...
Let's return to something more joyfull: picnic!
In a vintage style of course!!!!
We were with friends around a lake.
They are big vintage trailers fans!
I have always like their '55 Cadillac.
This car was the bride's car for our wedding 7 years ago!
There were not so much american cars at this vintage cars meeting.
But we manage to find some good ones and put some ads for our own vintage car show CRY BABY!!!
You must come if you live close to Luxembourg it will be in only 2 weeks!!!!
I also tried a car that I like very much!
This small BMW is called "l'Œuf" (the egg) in France...
So tiny and FUN!!!!
Only one door at the front!
A lot of pictures but that was such a beautiful day...
A few words and details about my outfit...
This hat is french new old stock from the 40's!
I LOVE huge hats!!!!
I bought this 50's squaw circle skirt on Etsy.
I like these king of wickers from the 50's-60's often made in Hong-Kong, they are much more roomy than usual vintage purses!
My shoes are repro from Rockets Original.
That gave me a total southern belle style like my husband said!
Sylvain finally could enjoy one of his hawaiian shirts!
This pattern is really CRAZY, isn't it?
It's not an original from the 40's because this kind of shirts can be sold for several thousand bucks...
This is a rayon replica made in Honolulu.
Do you like picnics?
For european followers,
are you planing to go to our car show CRY BABY?
Oh boy! Your shoes are marvelous, I'm off to check out the website. What a fun adventure you had! You really are a marvel at accessorizing. I'm just waiting for you to have a sale on accessories:)))
ReplyDeleteI don't think I will sell a lot of my accessories... they are easy to stock and there are no problem of size with hats, jewels or purses :-)
DeleteUpdated shoes sold out in my size:(
ReplyDelete:(

*PS* Earlier this year, after wanting one for many years, I bought my first vintage patio dress. It's dusty rose and silver just like your patio/squaw skirt is here.
I think that we have about the same taste for clothing :-)
DeleteI'm dying to see your dress!!!
Omg that small car is halarious but so darn cute LOL Great fun you too had! Do you find there is a big vintage community where you are? I've been curious! xox
ReplyDeleteThere are not so many people who like vintage in France... I don't know many persons who are wearing vintage clothes but many french like flea markets, old cars...
DeleteOh my goodness, you're a dream in that circle skirt and hat! What a lovely outfit. The picnic looks like so much fun, and all those cars... oh my! They're all so beautiful, and the little egg car looks so funny!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, this egg car is just so fun, would love to have one!!!!
DeleteYou look absolutely beautiful and you and your man make such a wonderful couple. I love all the beautiful cars, it would be fabulous to go for a ride in one of these.
ReplyDeleteThanks Melanie! But you know, vintage cars can bring fun but also a lot of problems..
DeleteWhat a pretty pink outfit...and I absolutely love Sylvain's lobster shirt! This looks like an absolutely delightful day out in the sunshine!
ReplyDeleteYou often find the best places when you get lost. I lovehow your shoes a skirt matches perfectly. And your cars are to drool over. :)
ReplyDeleteI just love every post you ever do! You and your Husband always look the TOPS! Fabulous!!! And I adore being able to see the most beautiful sites in France!

I do not like convertible either... it's just so difficult to keep one's hair in nice shape in such a wind... But you managed it very well.
ReplyDeleteGlamourous indeed but not practical!
And funny, Jone has got the same really cool shirt :-)
What a fabulous day! You and your man are such a charming couple. I spent this whole post going "ooooohhhh!" over your hat, and was thrilled to hear it was NOS... don't you love it when that happens? I always wonder where it's been hanging out this whole time.

what a great day! i really love your light coloured look. it's perfectly summery ... i found a quite similar squaw skirt with top in green at one of the local thrift stores here in seattle but it had some ripped seams. i didn't want to pay the original price. hopefully it's still there in saturday (50s% off).
