I like to find some fun and retro ways to store them safetly!
For example, most of my bangles are stored on vintage hat holders. Nice to see and easy to choose one when needed.
I also have many vintages boxes like this one... also bought from flea markets. This one is quite atomic!
And here is my earrings turnstile.... also found in a local flea market! I don't know what it was for at the beginning but I knew that I would use it like this when I bought it. Must be from the 50's or early 60's...
Most of my jewels come from flea markets and were bought for just a few cents or some euros for the best ones...
I must soon find another way to store them because it becomes really full!!!!
I like bakelite as everybody but I don't understand why prices raised so much... I really prefer buying for the same price 100 pairs of plastic earrings at flea markets than one bakelite bangle...
I also have some vintage lucite holders to put jewels that I wore last few days before storing them properly...
Here is how I store some of my vintage brooches....
I think that this box was to store bobbins for sewing machines... but it's just perfect like this!
These lucite bracelets are from the USA most bought from Ebay... I use a funy MINI 50's table to display them.
And here is my biggest treasure....
Somebody told me that this vintage box was used by photographers to store their films... This was a present from my husband...
I can store safetly all my sets and my charms bracelet....
For my hat pins I use this small poodle...
So as you can see you must use your brain when you see something in a flea market to perhaps use it in many ways... I really prefer storing my jewels in a vintage way than in modern untastefull boxes!
How do you store your costume jewellery?
What do you think of my way to store mine?
Your collection is beautiful and I love all your different containers.
DeleteWow! I'm really impressed by your beautiful collections, and all of the lovely ways you have found to display/store your goodies. Most of my accessories are stored in hat boxes and small suitcases which is handy for storage but not great for display (...or when I'm trying to find something!) - thanks for the inspiration ^_^
ReplyDeleteLove it! That turnstile for your earrings is a great find!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great post! What goodies you have! I just adore all the different storage boxes you have! I am def going to look for various boxes to store my jewelry. At the moment I need something for my bracelet bc they are taking up too much space in my train case. Thank you for the inspiration!! xox

beautiful! i love seeing your gorgeous collection! i have my brooches in cute vintage marbled plastic jewelry box with kittens on it! i'm running out of room though, i love your turnstile with all the earings on it!
ReplyDeletewow, you have an amazing collection! I especially love all of that lucite and your earrings. I store my brooches on a picture frame covered in fabric and bakelite bangles in a vintage satin hanky holder. I really need to find a better solution for my necklaces. They tangle so easily. Thank you for sharing your beautiful jewels! x
ReplyDeleteI have two jewelry boxes from my grandmother that I store everything in. It is sentimental as well as useful - PERFECT!

Wow, you have a lot jewelry!! I love all the earrings and confetti pieces! I dont have any confetti jewelry, but I do own quite a bit of bakelite. It is so expensive though that I like to look for good deals on them. Thats not easy though :-(
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! You have a lot of fabulous bits of jewelery! And I really love how you have them displayed! I have a few of the spiral earring racks for mine, but it doesn't hold nearly as much as the rack you have there. Fabulous!

Great storage pieces. I am with you, why is Bakelite so expensive?
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you have gorgeous jewels and great storage ideas.
ReplyDeletesacrée collection que tu as là, impressionnant!!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, you have an incredibly amazing vintage jewelry collection! I've been large second hand/antique stores and even museums that didn't have anywhere near the amount and array of beautiful pieces you have.
ReplyDeleteLove your clever storage solutions and every last treasure you have in your accessories collection, dear gal!

W.O.W. Never seen anything like that before - BEAUTIFUL!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this post so much!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a lovely collection and I adore your storage ideas! The earring turnstile is just amazing and I love how well your hatstands display your bangles. And I think I may borrow your planter idea for my hat pins. I'm also in love with your mini-table and your lucite jewellery holders. They've definitely been added to my list of things to keep an eye out for!
Right now I use some small decorative vases to hold my hat and stick pins and an assortment of differently sized jewellery boxes to hold my costume jewellery. And then I have some sweet little ring holders that I use to hold the rings I don't need to store as carefully and whatever jewellery I take off at night.
Beautiful collection - and I just love that red poodle. I have a collection of crystal dishes I tend to store things in on my dressing table - not very organised, but pretty!
ReplyDeleteincredible jewellery and lovely storage solutions. what a cache you have!
ReplyDeleteYou may have one of the best jewelry collections I have ever seen. Wow!
ReplyDeletebelle collection !
Hey Laurence great post! I love how you have stored your brooches and your charm bracelet and sets! I live in a tiny appartment and so have had to be pretty practical on storage. My bangles are all stored in a salvaged set of drawers from a 1920s singer treddle sewing machine cabinet. It has a stack of three drawers and works a treat. The rest of my jewellery is in modern plastic tool kit storage boxes- not nearly as gorgeous as your choices- but works well in in my tiny appartment. Thanks for sharing! You´re not coming to High? xx
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm not coming at the High. I really want to go every year because I have so much friends who are going too... But I usually cannot afford one week vacations in september with my job! I will be at Disneyland for the same week-end so I'm not so sad.... Have a great time there!
ReplyDeleteYour collection of vintage jewelry is very colorful. Every piece looks beautiful. With these jewelry, it must be pretty easy for you to style yourself. You can have a lot of choices and you can easily pick out whatever you want.
