Forgotten part of FRANCE

We have just come back from small vacations in South West of France....

But to go there, we had to cross about all our country!

A lot of small villages... quite forgotten....

Some are like ghost ones... a lot of closed windows with old "FOR SALE" signs on houses...

People don't want to live in these rural areas anymore far away from large cities....

It's like coming back at least 100 years before...

Almost nothing have changed since then...

Narrow Streets...

Old stones...

Here are our travel outfits...

50's high waist pants....

and an early 60's hawaiian shirt for Sylvain!

For me, a raspberry snood...

A comfortable vintage 40's french dress...

My new REMIX wedgies...

And my glasses... I don't share a lot of pictures of me with glasses... I prefer to wear contact lenses but when my eyes are tired I have to wear one of my vintage frames!

Those pictures were from Saint-Fargeau quite in the middle of France....

There were a few tourists to visit its old cattle...

Its construction began in 980!

It's always nice to visit such a building.

Architectures differ a lot in each french area!

I notice while watching those pictures that hubby and I wore blue on that day!

I like to wear large comfy dress when I travel...

I must think about a post about what to wear on vacations for vintage lovers...

Did you go on vacations?
What do you like pack with you when you travel?

  3. Beautiful little towns! It's fun to see your husband's tiki shirt contrasted against the lovely old buildings :-)

  4. So beautiful and so jealous again of where you live. The blues and red against the old stonework looks amazing too.

  5. This setting really looks as though it's been lifted straight from the pages of an enchanted fairy tale. We have a lot of beautiful scenery here in Canada, and certainly some nice (relatively or flat out) modern architecture, but absolutely nothing on par with the centuries old beauty and soul of these charming French villages. I would so love to visit some of these kinds of places myself one day and getting the chance to experience this kind of rich French history firsthand.

  9. Sounds like a lovely little holiday! I have also been wearing my glasses lately - I HATE wearing glases - but my eyes have been getting very irritated by my contacts recently, so I am resting them...can't wait to get back to normal so I can resume contact lens wearing!

  10. great dress! something about old doors! I used to go to paris for work and I would spend ages wandering about taking pics of the old doors, I guess I like imagining all the folk who have come in and out...looks lovely!

  11. I just came back from 3 weeks in Israel. I was so upset I did not pack more vintage style outfits, but I was worried I would ruin them in such a heat. I am jealous of your ability to wear vintage when travelling.
