DISNEYLAND Paris: Day 1

Like every first week-end of september, we spent a few days at Disneyland Paris for the Rock'n roll festival.

 

Disneyland is about 320kms from home and we chose to drive our '58 Continental...

 

And we finally arrived at our hotel the Sequoia Lodge... a lot of luggages for many planned outfits!

 

We met 2 greats guys with their '57 Lincoln.

 

We were parked side by side in Disney Village.

 

I chose to wear my vintage mexican outfit on this first day!

 

The weather was just so perfect.

 

I was wearing for the first time my new ERSTWILDER brooch!

 

We had the chance to meet many Disney characters at the Disneyland hotel!!!!

Look at my new vintage purse... a kind of pirat trunk!

 

I love that outfit, not easy to wear in french streets... but perfect for Disneyland!

We really are like kids there...

Everybody run to not miss anny attractions....

 

Shoppes are always so well decorated!

I have owned this shawl for many years and it fits this outfit 100%!

 

Sequoia Lodge is not the most luxurious Disney Hotel, but it's the one we love the most!

 

We like its Art and Craft style!

 

 

After a hot day, why not going to the Pool?

 

This 50's swimming suit was the first one I ever bought.

 

Sylvain's bathing suit was a late 50's hawaiian short.

 

 

And it was time to dress for the evening!

Live at Disneyland!

 

We finally met friends to share a burger lunch at a 50's style diner!

 

We even missed the rock'n roll concerts on the first night... we had needed a 30 hours day to do everything we wished!!!! You can see how full was our day with the lenght of this post....

FLEA MARKETS ADDICT !!!!

About every sunday when weather is not so bad we get up early to visit our favorite places... flea markets of course!

This sunday was a big monthly one near home in Belgium.

As it was a nice sunny day, there were many great sellers with most of the items before the 70's.

Look as those cute STEIFF dolls from the 50's!!! Made in Germany by the firm which produced the first Teddy bear.

So much things to see, I love for example old pictures... but cannot buy them all!

You must keep your eyes wide openned to not miss anything!

You can also discover some items that you never noticed before... for example those darling baby toys from the 30's-50's... unfortunaly quite expensive! They would look nice used like napkins rings!!!!

It's pleasant to visit flea market not alone because you can see twice more things!!!

This music stall was a feast for eyes!!!

A full NOS 50's-60's doll wardrobe... Even if I will not buy them, there are some great things that I love to discover and see.

There are also many incredible items that I would purchase but their conditions are just too bad to afford any euros in them.... That umbrella was a beauty with a handle made of ivory but the fabric was so dammaged, what a pity!

Some items are also just too expensive... like those elegant pin hats...

Vintage toys are always something I love to see. They was so creative and fun to watch now!

This BROCANTE is really a nice place to walk because it's in a middle of a beautiful old town (see this post of the same event).

A lot of local flea markets just propose plastic, plastic and plastic from the 90's till now.... but here, nothing like that... however the prices can be not so cheap on some stalls!

I really like these kind of chalkware wall plaques from the 40's-50's!!!

I even found some people selling some vintage clothes, quite rare in our area!

I would have bought those hair nets but there were only dark color... so sad!

I fell in love with this pretty seniorita!!!

We are pretty lucky to have so much nice flea markets near home.

And you will ask me: "But what did you buy???"

8 slips from the 50's for 1 euro each,

a jar for candy with a bakelite cap,

2 brooches from the 50's including one that is just a simple gold "L" for my name Laurence,

a chalkware colorful lady from the 50's and

6 glasses from the 50's handpainted with blue swallows... perfect for my collection of vintage glasses!!!!

Pink ROSES and green SHOES...

So my new purchase is this vintage dress!

 

It was also a good excuse to wear for the first time these lovely green shoes!!!

 

I have had this hat for many years but never find the perfect dress to match, I believe it's from the early 60's.

 

But I think it's the perfect match with my new purchase, isn't it?

 

These shoes are from Miss L Fire and I cannot wait to buy some of their new designs from their new fall/winter 2012 collection, they are really comfy with a great vintage style! A bit expensive but they are worth it!

 

You have already seen this birds brooch, one of my favorite.

 

 

These 50's sun glasses were bought in Toulouse a month ago, do you remember GROUCHO? I love them!!!

 

Here are some pictures of this dress without my little lace jacket.

 

It's a simple 50's coton dress.

 

But one more time, with a simple dress and fine matching accessories, you can look like you are ready for a wedding party...

 

This dress was less than 80 euros with shipping... I usually never pay more than 100 euros for a vintage cloth.

 

I prefer to buy many accessories instead of expensive dresses... I often see dresses on Etsy for more than $150 but I will never order them. Even my wedding dress was less than $60...
