VIVA LAS VEGAS #15 !!!

And here is the last post about our american trip... the last but not the least! VIVA LAS VEGAS !!! So much pictures that I take one month to complete this post...
I choose to put only pictures of us and friends because I have so many pictures of groups and cars.... I think you have seen these kind of pictures everywhere, so let start this long, long post!!!!

It was our second time in VLV, we already went there 4 year ago.

Of course like a lot of "rockers" we visited all Antique Malls in Vegas...

We had to make some economies so that's the way to sleep for cheap in VLV...

It's like a big vintage fashion show where everybody want to show the best of their wardrobe!

Not easy to be perfect after a trip of 2 weeks and with only a small suitcase....

We spend a lot of time with our finish friends. VLV is such a great place to meet people from everywhere!

I was so COLD in the Orleans why do they need to have so much air conditionned... it was impossible to wear short sleeves!!!!

I was wearing on the first evening my new purse just bought in Pasadena flea market.

With our american friends Benny and Jenny!

Sylvain was a crazy shopper in Vegas!!! And he found so much nice things: jackets, suits, sweaters, ties.... I was always behind him to tell him that we had to come back with plane and small suitcases... I did'n' buy a lot there :-(

We met so much nice people.... You can find about everything in style at VLV: pin-up, punks, rockers... but there are also true vintage lovers and it's what I was pleased with!

Sharing a drink with my friend Sylvie!

And it was time for the car show!!!!

It was really better than 4 years ago...

Some classic cars, some old school rods and customs and really less awfull rat rods!!!

We also made some shopping at the car show flea market....

My friend and I just matched perfectly exactly the same colors...

And it was swimming pool time!!!!

I bought this play suit in London Candem market 3 years ago and it was the first time I wore it!

It was so hot on Saturday, so why not a good ice cream!!!!

Our friend Benny and André were always so well dressed!!!!

Do you think I had to buy these crazy 50's glasses????

And it was alredy the last day... Sylvie and I chose again the same colors but without telling each other....

The slides show of Charles Phoenix was so great!!!

Why not a good froozen pinacolada at the pool!!!

It was Easter so I was wearing my chicken and eggs skirt!

And for the last evening, I was so tired and ill that kept my day outfit!

What a nice week-end we spent!!!!

I was afraid to come back at VLV because some people told me that it had been not the same since it was in the Orleans. It's true that it's bigger with some strange looking people but you can also meet bunch of nice people while shopping vintage with good music!

We will be there next year and we will be also at 2 friends weddings in L.A.! Hope to see you there guys!!!!

Have you ever been to VLV ?
Will you be there next year ?

PURPLE, PINK & PLAID again...

Sunday is of course a flea market day!!!!

It's my first outside flea market of the year!!!! The weather was so bad lately...

Spring is there but it's still so cold in the morning!

So it was my last chance to try on this 3/4 sleeves dress.

I really love this 50's brooch, it's made of plastic but the shades are so lovely! Flowers and animals are my favorites themes for brooches.

And here is Sylvain with some of our finds...

Always so elegant, what a lovely husband carrying all heavy things!!!

The best find of the day is this 50's chair in great condition, must be german made.

And you can see the beauty of this dress....

Another dress with what I love the most: pink, purple and plaid!!!! I lost some weight 2 years ago and now I always choose clothes too large for me when I order online but this one fit just perfect!!!

Just love the design of this one: 3/4 sleeves, high colar, buttons from top to bottom, nice pleated skirt, it gives a real secretary look, isn't? It's also really victorian era inspired I think.

I was wearing my new sunglasses for real then... I bought the hat there and wear it also for the first time.

For a small flea markets we found some lovely things and nice music to listen!!!!

Are you collecting vintage records?
Have you some size problem when you order online?

50's cat eyes glasses

Some of my dear readers must have noticed that I need prescription lenses. I often wear contact lenses because when you are already wearing a vintage hat, some flashy costume jewels and a wonderful dress, wearing 50's cat eyes frame is sometimes too much...

But of course I also wear vintage precription glasses and yesterday I received 2 new vintage pairs!

The first one is these blue 50's glasses. I bought them one month ago at Viva Las Vegas.

I love the nice details on 50's glasses: rhinestones, colors, stunning design...

Just a details of the dress I wore, look at those cute pockets!!!!

And here is my second new pair and the best about them it's that my optician made them for me for FREE!!!! He told me it's always with a great pleasure that he can work on these amazing vintage pieces!!!

These ones are french and was bought in a flea market in Belgium here. When you are wearing prescription glasses you need clear ones but also prescription sunglasses!

Look at these pearl effect and at the branch design!!!

You have perhaps notice my shoes, I really love them! They are repro from Rockets Original. I like this brand, the only flaw that I see on their repros is that their soles are made of plastic.

Here is my first pair of vintage glasses, I bought them about 7 years ago on Ebay. It's really difficult to buy glasses online, you can not see if the style, the color or even the size can fit your face! You must check and ask for all measurements and check with your actual pair.

But I was lucky with these ones, they fit perfectly!!! They were made by SELECTA sold in the USA but made in FRANCE because my country was the world largest producer of frames in the 50's.

When you are blonde with clear eyes, it's better to choose light colors. When I try on dark frames I look like a harsh teacher.... It's unbelievable to see how glasses can change a face!

Here is my second pair, bought at the Rockabilly Rave in England in 2009.

I love this pink color, they can match so many outfits!!!
Vintage 50's glasses are often really narrow and I have quite a large face so it's hard to find something that can fit perfectly.

I also wanted to show you in this busy post my lucite bracelet with blue shells!!! When a lot of vintage lovers are crazy about bakelite, I think that lucite is really as nice and for a cheaper price... I can not believe that people can buy a bakelite bangle for more than $200!!!

And here is my last pair of prescription glasses! They really have a crazy design!!!!

The brand written inside branches is RAY BAN, I don't know if it's the true RAY BAN that we know now.

The design is so crazy that I don't wear them so often...
I also have plenty of other sunglasses but not prescription ones from the 30's to the 50's.

My husband don't need prescription lenses, it's a pity for him because he would really like to wear some 40's or 50's glasses.

But he has a great collection of vintage sunglasses!!!

If you are wearing prescrition lenses and wear vintage clothes you HAVE to wear vintage glasses, it's so much fun to see people reaction when they notice your cat eyes glasses!!!!

Do you need prescription lenses ?
Do you wear or want to wear vintage glasses ?
